Our Projects

The Prime Group offers global experience and capabilities across a number of industries including the exploration and production of oil and natural gas, drilling services, agribusiness and electrical power generation.

Some of our recently completed and ongoing projects include:

• Oil and Gas Exploration
  Two of our affiliates, Hawler Energy and Shakal Production, were awarded significant interests in two of the first five production sharing contracts awarded by the Kurdistan Regional Government in northern Iraq. Exploration activities are in the early stages on both concessions.
  In 2002, we identified an opportunity for the acquisition of two heavy oil concessions in Colombia. Under our leadership and development, production was increased on these concessions from a few hundred barrels per day to nearly 25,000 BOPD. These assets were sold in 2007.
  We maintain interests in a number of offshore producing gas wells. The Prime Group sold its remaining productive on-shore oil and gas assets during 2007.
• Drilling Services
  We own significant interests in two drilling services companies. These companies currently own and operate a total of three drilling rigs, all of which are under contract in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq.
• Agribusiness
  In 2008, we acquired approximately 6,400 hectares of prime farm land in north central Colombia. We plan to devote this farm to the production of palm oil. Palm oil is widely demanded around the world as a food oil and also can be used as feedstock for the production of bio-diesel, among other uses.
• Electrical Power Generation
  We provide executive management and financial oversight of an electrical power generation business that is majority owned by our principal shareholder.
